Our Story

Handcrafted in Britain since 1901.

For over a century, Vispring has made beds the same way: by hand, to order, with natural materials and the patience the craft demands.

  1. 01

    A quiet beginning

Vispring began with the pocket spring: individual springs, each held in its own fabric pocket, working independently of one another. It changed what a bed could feel like.

  2. 02

    Skills handed on

The making has never been industrialised. Hand-nesting, side stitching, tape edging and hand tufting are taught in person, from one craftsperson to the next.

  3. 03

    Plymouth, England

Every bed is still made to order in Plymouth, in the same workshop culture that has shaped the company for generations.

  4. 04

Made for a lifetime of nights

A Vispring bed is specified once, for one room and one pair of sleepers, and built to be lived with rather than replaced.
